Blue Cat
Oil on canvas 22x28"

I was trying to explain to Dave the difference between non-objective imagery and abstract imagery, and made this painting as an example of abstraction.
Of course this is a recognizable image, but exactitude is not the primary impulse. I wanted to play with all the colors squeezed out on the palette.

I like the loose brushy surface and the stylizing outlines that take it another step away from sweetness of the subject matter, and into the more pop art styles of the 60's. I guess that is familiar territory to those of us who came up, back in the day.

I love the breads....yuuummmmmyyyy! No, there is absolutely nothing better than freshly baked bread with butter or butter and honey! Now I am going to check out that site.....although I am a 'traditional' bread maker...I knead away my stress into the dough and my family eats it all up....LOL!
