Blog-a-Versary!!
Yesterday was the second anniversary of this blog, which was started as a knitting blog, would you believe it? Then Diane our ring leader invited me to join the Artful Quilters Ring and it started being more about quilting, with knitting and cooking and shopping and now painting. Ooops, I left out gardening and parties. O, you know it is just about what's happening now.
We had a very quiet Thanksgiving but it started out great with a phone call from my sister Brooke in Singapore! Wow! What a treat that was. And I also talked with my niece Glory and had some good laughs. Amazing what technology we have these days.
Then I started a new painting which I am very excited about. It is the farthest removed from anything I have ever done and in my search for "the way I will paint now" I am feeling as though I may be on the right road, at last.
I know I have to enjoy the process and be thrilled with the product, and that is a tough nut to crack. However, as I wade through all the possibilities, I am discovering things I don't like to do and eliminating those, and keeping the things I like. Simple eh? As if.
I must say, in this time of Thanksgiving, I am happy to say that I am thankful for your blog.
ReplyDeleteI have gained many useful ideas, tips and all that. And I have gained a connection to your blog that I am fond of. My interests are aligned with yours and I enjoy the writing. So, THANKS.
I hope you continue . . . like indefinitely . . . well, indefinitely as we know it in this lifetime . . .
Happy Thanksgiving AND Happy Anniversary!!

Happy Blogiversary Number Two, Mel! I'm finding it interesting where you're going with the painting. Are you giving up quilting or is this just another venue for your creativity? I don't really quilt or paint but I love reading about your processes! I feel like I've watched you really begin to find your very own "voice". Congrats! I'm kind of envious!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Melanie for keeping faithful records of your artistic journey for us to enjoy, and congratulations on your anniversary! I love reading about your exploits, adventures, insecurities, struggles and eureka moments, as I also find so much resonance with your process of discovery and hear myself nodding Yeah! so often. I look forward to the next page in your book.
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
