The May Girls Birthday Party

Judy Coates Perez, Emily Parson, Jane Sassaman, Laura Wasilowski, Melody Johnson, Anne Lullie, Tommy Fitzsimmons, and Frieda Anderson

It may be August, but with our schedules this is the first time we have been able to get all of us together to celebrate the May Girls birthdays. The last time we were all together (minus Tommy) was for my birthday last December. So even then, we were one short. We were very lucky and had perfect weather. It took Tommy three hours to get here, being that she lives in Indiana and has to go through interstate construction, we were very happy to have her this time.

Judy Perez brought this fantastic cake which she decorated herself. It was a GIGANTIC HIT!

She was inspired by henna paintings, and the cake was so delicious and moist and... Judy has posted the recipe on her blog.

O yes there was lots of food, including coconut shrimp with pina colada dip, and Lemon Cheeseball, which tasted like cheesecake (so yummy) and fresh fruit and tomatoes and Pesto like it was going out of style. It is so Abundant August.

I took no pictures, but the first course was Tommy Flay's Spicy Corn Soup, and it was topped with roasted pepper cream, oink.

We sat under the canopy on the deck and chatted about Tommy's new dental work and hairdos and makeovers...

This is the back of Tommy's hair, and we were inspired...

to give Laura a New Do!

First we sprayed her hair to the sopping wet stage and then started blowing it dry.

Some Product was added. This is "Styling by Committee" with everyone shouting their input. Our musical accompaniment was Philadelphia Chicken with appropriate dance moves.

More Product!!!The crowd yells.

We have lots of goop, Being Wild, and Being Gutsy, as well as some sort of cement-y pomade.

More Volume!!!

We likey!

Isn't there a law about having too many talented people in one room in case of a natural disaster?

The Philadelphia Chicken???!!!! I LOVE that. I found several copies at the Boynton Beach Postal Outlet (love ya Michael) and bought them out. Well, there are so many kids in our family that I ran out and didn't keep one for myself. Gotta get more.

Oh, and re: Laura's hair...it's a good thing she has a sense of humor!!

  10. That is so hilarious. I can just see this party heading directly for Laura's new hairdo. (you guys are so weird), but I love the idea of Philly Chix playing in the background. I suppose you had memorized the words by then?

I can still get ROFLOL when I remember the slide show of that trip many years ago at QBL... anyone else remember? I think yu could have sold that presentation to the comedy network Ms Mel!!!!
