What's New?

My first red lily opened up this morning, amidst the chives and oregano.


Yesterday afternoon Dave decided it was time for us to put up our new canopy on the deck. This is a task for the brave and brawny. It looks simple enough, but this morning our shoulders are killing us. It was very difficult to get the expanding frame to click into place and we both struggled and sweated and grunted until it worked. My right shoulder throbbed all night and Dave just woke up with the same pain. This canopy will stay in place until the first or second snow...

Now we are all ready for guests. I still haven't set a date for the May Birthday Girls, since we are never in this state at the same time...but this will be the place when we finally are. Perhaps August.

I finished my painting yesterday too. No title yet, since I consider it just practice.
