Shiny version

That amateurish look that I love

Tiny outlines in black surround the 'portholes'. This image is somewhere between Santa Fe pueblo style adobes, and a cruise ship.
After putting another painting under the staircase never to be seen again, until garbage day, I got an idea on how to fix it. This is never a good sign. Fixing art quilts often means ruining it further, but with paint you can over paint the bad parts and revive the original idea. I had nothing to lose which is really the approach to have for all art work...
So I began the fix yesterday.
I should have been finishing my laundry and packing for my trip today, but I gave it an hour and I could tell I was on to something good. Amazing results, but only the beginning, so I will post the before and afters later in the week, when I return from downstate IL. This fix makes me really happy...
Two good happys, both in quilting and painting. It pays to stay home and have the extended time to make art and work through all this angst.

I really like your painting! It would make a beautiful quilt as well.

  3. I see the sketchy line you've introduced. At last, it has all become clear to me!

The colors are beautiful and I think you're right that the lines really add to it. I like it a lot!
