But there are large expanses of nothingness on this quilt and it seemed to me that I MUST ADD SOMETHING OF INTEREST.
Nonetheless, I will be quilting one quilt top a day for the rest of this week. Five in all.
The thing is, when we have quilts that are ready to quilt, it goes without saying that we are making progress, and moving forward, if only in increments. And when these are done, I have many more to make, and ideas that are ready. IDEAS!!! This is the way I have wanted to work for so long and it is happening, at last. Sigh.
So really I must do less of this boring stitching business, plus get a few books on cd or my brain will turn to mush.
I will have to have imaginary adventures in order to make the blog interesting.
Get one of those books on tape like "Me Talk Pretty Some Day" by David Sedaris. It will entertain you for hours!
ReplyDeletelike you could be boring...glad you're back.
ReplyDeleteAnd I do SO love your quilting! Also, the David Sedaris tapes and CDs are enough to keep you laughing.
ReplyDeleteBefore you quilt the next piece take some time and think- - -
ReplyDeleteCan you make the quilting more related to the quilt design?
Could you do one pattern all over the whole thing?
Could you do some partial lines that stop in the middle of the line? (I know - ends to deal with, but so what if it works and makes a more successful piece)
So think. . .
Take out a piece of tissue paper and draw over a picture of the quilt, or do this on the computer.
Get out your sketch books and see if that jump starts an idea.
Look at the phots you took in Santa Fe (my favorite place) and see if they give you some ideas.
Look all around you, your environment, your computer, etc.
Anxiously awaiting seeing a new quilting direction from you.
I have the Kite Runner on CD, if you havn't already listened to it I can bring it to the may birthday bonanza.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry but, i can't believe that anonymous blogger just said that, like that infomation would be new to you?
