The Greenville Arms Inn

My lovely room at the Hudson River Valley Art Quilt Workshop
I arrived in Albany NY Saturday morning and had a scenic drive to the small town of Greenville, the site of my week long vacation, um, workshop. Wow! This is a dream setting. Quaint Victorian Inn with all the trimmings including a large parlor, with a lending library and lots of quilts on the walls everywhere. My bedroom has this wonderful four-poster bed, but I slept on the twin. I love looking at the fourposter, all made up and pristine.

Of course they have DSL, so I am happy as a clam!

Kim La Polla is the artist/owner/innkeeper genius to think this all up. What a great idea to own an Inn and have both art quilt workshops as well as the established and very popular painting workshops. Her husband Mark is a real chef and it is his delight to create our gourmet meals. O my diet!

This room has a refrigerator should I need to keep a sixpack cold, and my own bath. I forgot my toothpaste! grrrr. I will get some today in town.

I brought both laptops for an exercise that will use Paint and Picasa. I asked the students to bring a laptop if possible, but mine will be shared.
The workshop space is immense, with fabu lighting, a table for each student, with working wall and a dedicated electric circuit for each person. NO electric problems all week!!!
The best news is that Rolando came through and the bolts of Wonder-Under were delivered before I arrived and I tested it and it is the GOOD STUFF. Hurrah!!!! I FUSED FOUR PIECES WHICH PEELED PERFECTLY.
I have set up the classroom and will be making something this morning so more pictures will follow. But first, breakfast is served!

Wow! Kim has quite the set up there! Absolutely beautiful!!!! Can't wait to see the rest! Am also interested to hear what you do with the Paint/Picasa. You never cease to amaze me. Your brain must be working 24/7.

Rolando deserves a reward!! Maybe we should shower him with fused mini-quilts!

Have fun (I know you will). Can't wait to see the pictures from the workshop.
