My sister-friend Roseangela told me about this sculpture in England that reminded her of the Dance. Pretty monumental eh? Note the curve of the earth it stands upon. It is huge.
I'm glad someone made the connection with the Angel of the North for you. Do take a look at Anthony Gormley's website - the image you have gives you no sense of scale. www.antonygormley.com/ I like his work because of the way he uses negative space.
As an artist, one of my goals is to take risks, try new ideas, and find a way to give myself that 'thrill' that making art can provide. Words of encouragement are always accepted.

I love this piece with the curves in place.

Truly amazing, the comparison and similarity! Love both.
ReplyDeleteThe Angel is just outside Newcastle and, sadly, it's not half as pretty in real life due to the weather. Newcastle on the other hand is GORGEOUS!
