Cruciform Series: Green
Hand Dyed Cottons 61x68"
It is not quilted yet, but is pillowcased and all ready. I will have to wait til Sunday to start on it and the big red one. All I think I can get done will be the stitch in the ditch part. I have to bring them with me on Wednesday to our PAQA meeting. I haven't been since August, and this is a very important meeting, since we will be filmed by Wisconsin Public TV and I must look productive. They are coming to my house for the day on Thursday. Dave better start vacuuming now.
Since my fabric is all fused before I start, when the top is finished I can just place it on the freshly pressed batting and fuse it in place. I used the 12" floor tiles to help me square off the monstrous thing, as cutting and measuring it on the table did not yield even measurements, either the first or second time.
Thanks so much for your many good wishes for our anniversary. We had a lovely day and took our 'now' picture with the camera's timer. This is the fourth try. The second one was pretty good, except for cutting off Dave's head.
The newest scarf is purple!!
Today Frieda and Laura and I are going to a sale at Quilter's Resources in Chicago. They are a wholesale supply house and are moving to Aurora IL and want to reduce their inventory. We are just the gals to help them out. They sell knitting needles too. O my!
This new quilt is fabulous, Melody! It would seem you've really hit your stride, haven't you?
ReplyDeleteAnd happy anniversary (a day late) to you and Dave. Could the two of you look any happier?
Hi again,
ReplyDeleteYour drawing blew me away then the quilt finished me off, simply awesome, I can't stop looking at it!
Congrats on your Anniversary, you both haven't aged a single day. Lovely.
This quilt knocks me out, I especially love the sense of light. Jen
ReplyDeleteOoooooh, the light and the movement. This my new all-time favorite!
ReplyDeleteThis new green quilt is fabulous also, and I love seeing all your drawings from the sketchbook. They're art also, maybe you should frame them, unlike my sketches which are usually pretty blecky.
ReplyDeleteMelody, I really love the drawings of your quilt ideas. They have a life of their own and are works of art all by themselves. When you have your retrospective one woman show, will you hang both quilts and drawings?
ReplyDeleteI'm totally jealous of your being on television. What show will you be on and when will it be aired?
This green piece is very good. I love the composition. I feel that the placement of the cross to the background is perfect scale. You are definitely on to something. Congrats on fighting through it.
