Where in the world am I?

I forgot to mention that the place I am at is the Resort at Squaw Creek, Olympic Valley, California. Way kool. There were three bears on site yesterday, although I did not see them. A mother and two cubs were sending quilters like Rachel Kinsey Clark into a tizzy. One of the trash receptacles was toppled in front of our hotel and garbage strewn about last night. It prevented one 'camper' from going down to the hot tub after dinner.

Our rooms come equipped with those thick white luxury bath robes so one can don a bathing suit and robe, and make a quick dash to the pools and not freeze off one's hiney. The weather is supposed to change and snow possibly today, but last year it was snowing before and during our stay, and not much accumulated.

You saw the flat screen tvs in my room, but unfortunately the reception is iffy at best. I watched part of the West Wing but the picture was horrible and the buzzing noise of the transmission made it nearly impossible to enjoy. I can watch Law and Order reruns however, so call me happy.

Menu from last night's dinner

Butter Leaf Lettuce and goat cheese salad
Grilled Flank steak with ginger teriyaki sauce
Basmati rice and steamed bean sprouts
Haricot Verte
Citrus Chiffon Pie with Burnt Meringue/Guava and Mango Coulis
Coffee

  1. One thinks one will have to save up one's hard earned greenies - what a lovely setting!

  2. What is the tendency to BLACKEN every thing? I burned the garlic bread and told my guests it was the latest trent in cooking. Boy, it was crunchy. I do approve of the lettuce though. Enjoy yourself, you deserve it!
