A great month for quilt sales

I am a very happy girl this month. I have been honored to have buyers for the following quilts.

Tulip Party was optioned by a collector in Idaho before it was even quilted. I promised it to her after Tahoe, and emailed her that is was ready. I emailed her again and got no response. Again, I tried to contact her and still nothing. Not to worry, I have another collector who knows this story and is waiting to hear from me today that it is available to her. Hello! It's yours now!

Now I have a real dillemma. I promised the small work above to two people and fear that I am going to disappoint one of them. How could I have been so stupid? Easy. I am am moron. I may have mentioned that to you in the past. It is no joke. I do dumb things like this too often to avoid the title. I must contact promised person #1 and see if she is still interested.
The new owner of the Tulip Party bought the piece below which is the sister piece of the one above. Do these have titles? Nope. Never got around to naming them. How about Pete and Repeat?

Yesterday I handed this piece over to it's new owner. It is the opening piece on my website. It has a name. Three Value Study. I have loved this piece from the moment I made it. It has such unusual colors and it works so well as a design.

NOW I must make lots more new work. I am being filmed on December 15th for Wisconsin Public TV and have very little work left to show...well except for the really old classics. Time to get them outta the closet and see what's what.

Today I teach my last class of the whole year. I had a big group yesterday and wonderful stuff was started. I will wallow in artiness all day and absorb all the inspiration I can get. I need it!

  1. Good for you! Selling stuff gives one an incentive to make more. Liz Berg told me that you should selll even your most favorite piece because if you don't it will always be the best you ever did and you need to move on. I love that idea.

  2. Wonderful, wonderful. I love to hear the word Sell!! hahaha ...makes it all worth the effort that someone appreciates the time and creativness put into a lovely piece like the above. It brings to mind that the most precious thing you can give someone is your time...so a lot of preciousness is in your work...not to mention blood, sweat and tears lol....

  3. Melody, since you are going to be on Wisconsin Public Television, may I lurk in the background pretending that I actually have some function to perform. You know I'm a fame whore. Help a girl out.
