Letter from Romania

Dear Mrs Melody,

First of all I have to appologise for my dare of disturbing you with this message (and also for my bad English)

My name is Daniela and I am from Romania (East Europe).

One of these days I saw your works on the Internet and I am bewitched. I can not work, eat, sleep anymore and my familly is exasperated. Anytime I disappear they find me in front of my computer with the english dictionary near me, searching on Internet and reading and reading...

In Romania I couldn't find anything about quilting (fabrics, books, technics...and all the stuff).

I want to do my first quilt. What do you recommend me? I also wish to dye the fabrics by myself same as you do but I don't know how and what do I need for it.

I allways wish to make my dreams true in some artistic way. The quiltind technics seems to be for me the best methods.

Once again please forgive me for this message. One single word received from you will save a soul. I'm looking forward to it. Till then I will heal myself reading your Fibermania site.

Your Sincerelly,

Daniela

Dear Daniela,

I am hoping that the dear readers of this blog who live in countries closer to you will be able to help you find the necessary books, workshops and fabric to make your artistic dreams a reality. There are so many books that one can order from internet sites and two I could mention immediately are from Laura Wasilowski and Frieda Anderson who happen to be my dear friends, and also have wonderful books.

As for dyeing fabric, I would think that dyers in Germany such as Heide Stoll-Weber a wonderful dyeing teacher, can be very helpful and shops like this seem to have all the things you need.

I will ask that anyone that feels she/he has something to offer Daniela please email me and I will gladly pass on the information to her.

Sincerely,

Melody
