Romance on the Home Front

I have been washing the same load of laundry for two weeks, and had finally run out of underpants, and had to really get serious about getting my clothes washed and put away.
Two sets of bed sheets really makes a mountain of laundry and once those were washed I made the decision to remove the red down comforter and get the Spring sheets on the bed.
They are PINK so that means a coordinating quilt must be used.

I bought this old thang several years ago and it is the only antique-y quilt I own. It was made in 1937, by some hand quilting woman, I assume, and passed down to a person in need of $400. I swooped in, figuring I would resell it, and gee, just never got around to it. The hand crocheted pillowcases I got on one of my trips, I think to Ohio, and they are just perfectly pink and coordinate so nicely.

We have many stereos, one for each room of the house, except the bathrooms, where I am sure we would have one if there were any available surface to put one. I suddenly noticed there was none in our bedroom and realized this needed fixing.

I gathered a nice Sony system from the dining room downstairs and set it up on the freebie hand painted end table that I got from my girlfriend Tommy Fitzsimmons.
Then I had to take a break and fold laundry. I was momentarily distracted by the new computer and decided to make a compilation disc of some of the most romantic music that I have recently acquired thanks to Genius Little Brother. This cd would feature music with tongue in cheek titles, alluding to marital activities oft occuring in the vicinity of the bed.

Tonight's the Night, by Rod Stewart (which is the joke, the song title, or ROD?)
Sexual Healing by Marvin Gaye
You Look Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton
Put Your Head on My Shoulder by Paul Anka (I am old, don't forget)
When a Man Loves a Woman by Screamer Michael Bolton
I Only Have Eyes for You by The Flamingos
My Funny Valentine by Frank Sinatra
If You Don't Know Me by Now by Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes
Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo Ole'
The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt
Dream a Little Dream of Me by The Mamas and Papas
Crazy by Patsy Cline
Georgia On My Mind by Willie Nelson
Wicked Game by Chris Isaak
December 1963 (O What a Night) by the Four Seasons
Careless Whispers by George Michael
In the Mood by Glenn Miller Orchestra

A good time was had by all.

I still have one more load to dry and I am finished with laundry. Hurray!

  1. What?! You're not using the Constantine Maroulis version of My Funny Valentine rather than Sinata?

  3. Oh, thank goodness. I couldn't imagine you piecing that quilt.

Now find a charming dustruffle somewhere to hide that box spring...
    (I sound very Hilde-like there...)

Boy...that sure IS a Tommy table! She sure can decorate a house! Hmmm....maybe I had better put some of the interior stuff in the new house on hold and get her up here!

Ah yes.....it is time for spring cleaning ....sigh. Actually, I have put a good dent in cleaning the living room/studio and cleaning the closets in the bedroom.

And those sheets! I am not crazy about most pink but THAT is wild!!
