I've been painting papers, or making gelli prints just to have a stash of color and pattern at my fingertips for collage. The canvas is painted first and then using matte medium, I cut and paste the papers in place. Then more paint, ink, paint pens and finally a coat of matte medium or glazing medium, depending on the look I want.
The color scheme here is sorta Provençal, warm and cool, which is just so summery. I am loving this process so much, and ideas are flowing.
Actually I like the original more. I think probably because of the value differences.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your 'sort of like a quilt' comment, because I had just done a double take. I knew it was your art work on canvas that you were showing, but I would have sworn it was a quilted piece. It's been fun seeing the different things you do, but my first love is your quilts. Also have to say that I am green with envy over your garden. As always, thanks for sharing.
