Year End Roundup

At the end of the year it is interesting to see what got made (and finished) in the last 12 months.
Who knew it would be such a year for knitting? 31 new pieces. I learned a lot of new techniques by making these, including the Continguous Top Down construction. One of these sweaters was repeated in the collage, so don't count it. But this one quilt didn't get in under the wire,  so add it to the others, making only 10 fabric works for the year. And I call myself a quilter! The collected paintings had these two left out of the collage, making 17.

What this collage exercise tells me is that my focus for the year had a lot to do with my bad knee, and not being able to get around the studio to do much sewing, or fusing. Now that my knee is better and I recently got the hang of piecing art quilts, I have renewed interest in making stuff from fabric. Of course I will still knit, and hopefully paint too. And garden. Didn't include any garden stuff, but there was certainly a lot of that going on. See this slideshow.
And Dawgs. There are sure to be lots of Dawg stuff in the new year.

Here's hoping you have a safe and fun celebration and a wonderful love filled 2013!

You are certainly one of the most productive people I know. Your college is a wonderful way to see what you have accomplished in a 12 month span. Hooray to more quilt and dog photos in 2013. May this be your best year yet!

  11. Melody don't you have a birthday around this time of year? I think I remember it being very close to my own birthday which is Jan 1. If I remembered right then Happy Birthday! If I'm wrong, blame it on a senior memory.
