Stripe City

Here's my new cardi, Stripe City. Body is knit from the left around to the front, and then the right front is picked up from the provisional cast on under the left underarm. Sleeves are added and neckband completes the project. I chose these colors, all tertiaries, because I love them all. Then I had to find a top to wear underneath. Luckily I had one tomato colored tee and it matches beautifully.
Merino DK, size 7 needles, garter stitch throughout. 68st cast on, 40 for the armhole. (these mean something to me...not necessarily to you, unless you want to make one too! See my  Pink Tutu for the pattern). I did a different neckline this time, since maybe I will make a an open collared shirt, someday down the line. I do have linen in lime and more in tomato.

I had this green copper enameled button for years and it seemed to be just the right thing to add to this neckband. I actually thought ahead and made the button hole larger to accomodate it.

  1. Beautiful as usual. I just knit a sweater recently that had underarm issues that didn't fit right. I don't have the knit know how you to change or alter my knitting. I should learn how so I can make things that fit right.

  5. What a beautiful sweater! It makes me want to knit sweaters. I don't have much luck. I end up ripping them out when I don't like them on. Then I make afghans and lots of socks.
It looks great on you too!

I love the sweater! I love the colors and the pattern. I am too scared to knit anything but hats and afghans. I once tried to knit a vest and my sister finished it for me.
