Heatwave

It's lovely outside at the moment but the week's forecast gets increasingly hot until it reaches dangerous heights. This is so unlike the weather we usually have here. It's scary! I got out early to go grocery shopping, and while it was pleasant when I entered the store, by the time I was finished I was hit with a blast of furnace-like heat when I exited.
I blame it all on the black asphalt parking lot.
I will be going to knitting tomorrow and directly home, no shopping or dinkin' around.  While it will be in the high 90's on the mountain, it will be even hotter in the valley, in town.
Thankfully we have air conditioning and streaming Netflix. I'm staying inside.

  1. AC, knitting and NetFlix, sounds like a good plan for the week! The forecast for the PA mountains is similar, but not quite as extreme...I think they are saying 90's for us.

  2. It's hot here too in NM. 100 degrees and it's still June. When we moved here 14 years ago, it rarely hit 100 during the summer, now it's becoming the norm and lasting most of the summer. So I spend more time indoors too with the swamp cooler on. At least I am doing more knitting now during the summer.

  3. Knitting, Netflix, and AC sounds like a winning combination!

Your Friday looks brutal! Maybe the forecast will be wrong.... you can always hope. Isn't it great to have a passion for stuff that can be done inside the house on a too hot / too cold / just right day! When the weather is that hot, do you have to put a sunshade over the fish or add cold water?

  5. Wow! That's some hot! Here in Seattle it is right now 55 degrees. I'm all sweatered up with the heat on. We don't have AC but only wish for it a few days out of the year. Have an iced tea for me, please dear Melody.

  6. Yes, it is in the 100's here in Missouri too. Hand sewing with Netflix is my plan. Rediscovered Abbot and Costello.
