Staying In Today

The pets get me up at 5 for their breakfast and I happened to hit the porch light and saw this outside my studio. It must be about 6-7 inches, and still coming down. Good thing I have no where to go today.
A good day to bake something and make soup.

Even Chumley is staying in bed for the duration, toys at the ready.

I spent a thoroughly enjoyable Sunday, after having unloaded my feelings about wires here. Thanks for your support.
BBC America had a marathon of the mystery program Luther and I got to stay awake through all six episodes while I sewed the new cushion cover for my chair. I think that was very nice of them to air the show in the daytime, as I notoriously fall asleep after 8:30. See above pet feeding time.

It's starting to look like a set, but I need a cushion for the back and that requires some foam, so it will have to wait until I go into town.  There are still cafe curtains to make and if any fabric is left, some table toppers. It feels so great to get these made.
With the cushion in place I put up my feet and finished the 10th Eternity Scarf. Such a nice day.

  1. Sounds like you have a lovely day on which to rest on your laurels!

  2. A good excuse to stay in and enjoy yourself. Do you know
Of a good tea cosy pattern?

  3. I love a nice storm day to stay inside and get domestic. I sure wish I had the patience to do covers for my chair. I know how to do them, I just can't stand to do it.

  4. I LOVE the chair & ottoman. I don't know how to make these things, but I have a white chair in the living room and now I am inspired to learn how! Off to do some digging!!!!! Thanks for the inspiration.

  5. Gee I wish I'd known they were showing "Luther" I saw episodes 3-6 but didn't learn of the series until 1 & 2 were no longer available on the Primetime Demand list. Maybe they will recycle them back again.
Love what you are doing to your chair and ottoman. And you left Chicago because of what? "Snow" Oh well, at least it melts before the next snowfall comes.

  6. Sounds like an excellent art day to me. Cushion looks fabulous.

  7. Are you slip covering the chair too?

  8. I love the chair and cushion. I wish I could do stuff like that. Alas, not inclined too. On a positive note, I'm loving my new Eternity scarf (dark purple). My daughter wants one too. Thanks for the inspiration! BTW went back to English style knitting, just couldn't do the purling without major wrist twisting. But at least I can do it if need be.

  9. We're just beginning to get some snow. We've been out and about all morning.
Had to get a couple of answers from the 'tech' at Barnes & Noble about posting from my new Nook.

    L♥O♥V♥E you bright re-do, Melody.

    Snowy Hugs,

  10. Luther was such a great series. What a great way to spend a day, while looking out to the snow outside.

  11. Love your ottoman and chair! Beautiful colors!
