Quilt into Pillow

Here it is, Print Parade #2 made into a pillow. I bit the bullet and took advantage of the completed quilt's already perfect color scheme for the front of my first pillow for this room. Then I had to find a backing, and searched in my quilt block UFO's for an appropriately related color scheme, as if, and actually found this Log Cabin. It was way too small so I added more fabric until it reached the necessary 24" square. Then batting and backing and quilting and voila! It was ready to assemble into a pillow.
There was a lot of Keiko and a little Kaffe fabric in this block, so it has class! I used the same green welting and cut out 1.5" squares from each of the four corners to form a mock box cushion and used the pillow form I made from the innards of two old bed pillows. This makes it much more substantial than a standard commercial insert, and yet very soft and malleable.

To my surprise, it fits the back of my chair just right. How's that Goldilocks?
I needed just a bit more cush for my back on this chair, so I am so happy to have this pillow fill the bill.

  8. Loving the stronger depth of colors with the wall paint.

The "I love to quilt, paint, garden, knit and cook" line in your profile seems to be missing the word "share". So glad blogging options were born at a time when you were able to make time for blogging. Your generous spirit and willingness to take us along for the ride is appreciated, always.

  11. Ok, do you wear sunglasses to bed? When you turn out the lights, do things glow in the dark? It's all fun and wonderful. With the gray of winter outside, your colors are helping me hang on to sanity. There's a quilt waiting to happen... all gray and there's your house aglow with color!
