Lining Purses

I don't know how it all began but I have become the go-to-gal for lining felted or just knitted purses. Yesterday I lined two for my friend Ellen. This blue one is HUGE and will not stand on its own for more than a photo op. Wouldn't you know it, I had just the right color cotton to line it? Ellen asked for pockets and I gave her two big ones on both sides.

Her second one needed stiffener to make it stand alone, and I had some in the closet, along with a fancy gold-glittered cotton liner. Pockets were also included in this one.

During coffee breaks I stopped to surf Flickr for some quilty ideas and came across this top made by Ann StewART. How dramatic, and elegant in its simplicity (my highest compliment). During one of my shopping sprees at the local (GA) quilt shop I bought one of those rolls of precut strips, and it is still rolled up. This idea might get me to use it. Paper piecing comes to mind.

And then we have today's picture of Dorky Dog, who is trying to quit cigars cold turkey.

That's such a beautiful quilt! Who would think, in it's simplicity, that it would be so striking?!

  6. Love the string quilt...I can see why you were intrigued by it. As always Chums does not disappoint. If and when Maya leaves to her reward...I might have a pug in my future. I never thought I'd say that and I wish Maya no shortage of day, but Chumley has totally charmed me.
