Dinkin’ Around with Photos and Videos in Windows Live

IMG_7031 Stitch

Playing around with the panorama feature on Windows Live Photos. This is the view from my studio window. I took six consecutive pictures, uploaded them and clicked Make on the menu bar. Then the program stitched them together like this. You are supposed to crop out the uneven black edges, but really, who cares?

It is glooooomy today. But the earth and pond are loving the rain, and so am I. It is days like this that make me shop online nurseries…eek! Plants in the mail. I swore I would quit this. So far I have received and planted 24 gigantic Stargazer lily bulbs and have ordered 50 Liriope (my new fave) for the hillside. They grow anywhere.untitled Liriope in bloom.

I thought I would share a video of my new studio. The ‘narration’ is NPR’s Morning Edition playing in the background. I forgot that audio was being recorded.

  1. Pretty kewl. This new computer stuff is giving you all sorts of different options. Next video must have a person in it.

  2. Doesn't open in my flash-blocked firefox. What a shame.

  3. Oh yes, now I saw it -- on replay. Beautiful room! What I like very much: The tall windows.
The "narrator" adds a surrealistic touch.

  4. You look all settled in -- you've filled the space quite nicely. Very inviting and I imagine a great space in which to lose track of time and enjoy being in the creative zone. Wonderful!

  5. Great hand held camera work Ms. Mel! Next we need you to do a step by step movie of your next piece, please! And I think a rendition of the CSOF song, performed by you, would be a splendid soundtrack for that!

I still think the one wall would be great for an art gallery of your paintings and art quilts!! I love all that space - about 15 times my quilting space!!!

  7. Teresa, the walls have those lousy sconces on them, getting in the wall and casting awful shadows on everything in between. They must go and overhead spotlights must come in.

  10. Great set-up... but one question. What is that you are using to iron on? Is it a teflon or pellon pad? I'm looking at what looks like your fern piece, with the iron next to it, but can't tell what the piece is sitting on.

Inquiry minds just have to know :-)

Are there any good deals to be had with online nurseries? Please share if you've found any, so far I've only found Costco to be affordable.

  13. What a beautiful room. Are you going to leave the walls plain (great calming place to create) or spice it up with some of your lovely colours.

  14. Beautiful studio! Did not take you long to make it look like it has always been there.

Love the new shadowing on your photos.
I will have to try to learn that.
