The Gardening Begins

This is Bob, the landscaper. He is taking pictures on his cell phone of the area I want him to transform from this:

to a fabulously lush structured garden. We need soil and raised beds and mulch and stone paths.

O my checkbook groans. Better that than my achin' knees.

And please can you do something about this pond embankment? I am expecting miracles.
After Bob left I decided it was a good day to plant the six azaleas I bought a few weeks ago.
Three in pink and three in red, loaded with buds, but not opened yet. They were planted in the good soil we do have...in the semi-shade.
I was still in my sweatshirt, pjs and pink boots. It's a very relaxed fashion scene here at Chez Johnson.
I looked up from my dirt to see the UPS Darling Man arriving with part one of my garden order.
Woowoo! I stopped to open the Christmas presents I ordered back in December.
Tons of roots and pots of things, too numerous to mention. Many of them will have to wait in the potting shed until the soil arrives for the raised beds. Then and only then will I have a place to put them.
But I did have a spot for these:

Nine hosta, three primrose and three Virginia Bluebells. All went into the shade garden.
This morning Popeye woke me up at 4am, just because he forgot where he was. Kitty Alzheimer's. Thankfully the rain was beginning and my knees can have a day off.
Sorry no painting today. I crawled from the hot bath to bed at 6 and slept through 3/4 of American Idol. Maybe today, since I can sit while I paint. Ah yes...

Thought about you as we flew over Tennessee yesterday.
Looked for your estate but couldn't see it.

Wow. You are going to be living right in the middle of one of your paintings. I would love to plant more azaleas but I want to wait and see how the ones I have do in this zone 4 climate.

Your house is fairly close to the road, it didn't seem that way at first but looking at the picture with Dave looking down at the truck, you aren't far up in the woods at all!

I figured the first is your driveway Mel(the one closest to Dave). It's the second parallel road. Is that your driveway too? If it is, then all I can say is damn!

Ahhh, I enlarged the picture, it is the main road, with all the markings.
