Hold the Presses!!! I gave permission!

It turns out that I gave permission after all to use my quilt images. I am an idiot. Duh! With gobs of emails daily, answered at before the crack of dawn, I am LIKELY to forget what I said or promised or agreed to, and this is THAT SORT OF THING.
As Roseanne Rosanadanna said, "Nevermind".

....O damn. I meant Emily Litella.

  3. Wasn't it another Gilda incarnation, Emily Latella, who said "Nevermind."?

Well, it is good that it has all been sorted out. Now we can put the feathers back in place.

  5. Hey Melody,

Well, you truly are a wonderful person. I've read through the emails and don't see anywhere where the woman states she intends to use your beautiful, lively quilts for fun and profit. I would think if she had said she was intending to produce them - you may have wanted a contract.

I didn't see your name on the stamp - but it was small and I couldn't see it all together.

I have full respect for quilters and their work and don't believe in trying to reproduce someone else's work as my own. I may be inspired by some - but enjoy trying to do my own "thang" as they say.

Today is a sad day - I grew up only four miles from DeKalb, Illinois and my sister went to NIU. Such a tragic situation that someone feels a need to take another's life. Especially innocent persons.

This too shall pass!! Maybe she'll send you a nice little donation for the sale of your quilts on her stamps!!

    Keep Hope Alive!!

You can always blame it on Mercury being retrograde from Jan 28 to Feb 19! Apparently the 'cosmic trickster' bollixes up communications royally. Works for me.

  7. I agree it is easy to forget this with the number of trips you were making and workshops you were giving. I have given away wallhangings and then later have gone to look for them and even later remember I don't have them anymore. The spur of the moment things are easiest to forget.

  8. Nice to know the artists of this world who produce work I can only aspire to are human after all! In fact thinking about it aren't we creative people actually supposed to be -um ( don't be offended here I mean it nicely) a bit airheaded with details?!

  9. To All:

It is with GREAT sadness that I read this blog without an outright apology from Ms Johnson, but instead the entire issue is dismissed with a 'nevermind.' I have been called a "culprit," my actions "bloody cheeky" and my business practices a "scam" and "[a] downright misuse and copyright abuse." I do not take lightly intelligectual properties or these insinuations.

I have always conducted my business practices with the utmost attention to detail; making copious notes about conversations and archiving all email so that if an occasion should arise [as now] I would be able to produce the appropriate information.

It does seem, however, that this is not the manner with which Ms Johnson conducts her business and should be duly noted.

I am currently removing the items offered until I have time to reflect on them and the other quilts we discussed in said 4.24.06 telephone conversation.

    Sincerely, C~Marie

PS YES, there are many others! AND, Disney is perfectly aware of my covers. Please contact them at your earliest conveneince.

  10. Dear C~Marie,
I AM SORRY. I am an idiot. I did forget totally, and meant only to say tongue in cheek that there was a 'culprit' involved. I never meant to hurt you or your business. And I wasn't that interested in stopping the use, but just finding out if it was AQS who was doing the stamp. So sorry for all this mess, really.

  11. Melody: I do appreciate and ACCEPT whole heartedly your apology. I really thought that we had hit it off pretty well when we talked on the phone. It was disappointing to know that you had forgotten.
