A Bunch of Good Things

I've found my GRAY. I had a multi-gray piece from my early dyeing days, unfused and waiting for just such a discovery. And then I found a bunch of very pale nearly white fused pieces in my stash. They look pretty colorful next to each other but in fact, they would all be too pale to distinguish as a particular color alone. But in order to make those color sample pieces that I blogged yesterday, I will need to work with colors this subtle.

And then my new stereo arrived and we went on a quest to get the proper cable to link my mp3 player or my laptop to the new unit. We found a brand new place to shop in nearby Dayton. A Radio Shack had just the right cable.
Right away I listened to some podcasts I had downloaded previously on ITunes. I usually load them on my mp3 player, but it was just as easy to listen directly off the laptop through the new stereo. Currently I have over 370 podcast programs to listen to. I am set! They are mostly Fresh Air, Splendid Table, Bill Moyers, Elvis Mitchell, and oodles of knitting podcasts.
And down the street was a big new Lowe's Home Center. It must have just opened. I am thrilled as it is much closer than my other choices in Kimball and Hixson. So you can guess I will be visiting often for garden stuff. My basil seeds are up on the window sill and at Lowe's I found the long sought after Poblano pepper seeds.

These will go into the dirt today.

And at long last I have decided to BLOCK some of my knits. This is a vest made ages ago, and never blocked. I guess I was always too busy to take time to properly finish things like this. Now I believe I will actually wear this item, and will make time to block the other knits in my closet.
