Erin Wilson:Part B
Life is so funny. Yesterday I got an email from Erin Wilson, who I didn't know, I thought, after I blogged her quilts. It turns out that her parents are collectors of my very early quilts, and introduced Erin to my work years and years ago! I remembered them immediately when Erin mentioned that they used to come into our Artfabrik booth at quilt shows. We'd see them in Indianapolis, Paducah and Houston. They were great supporters of us when we were just starting out.
So it should come as no surprise that we have that one body one brain connection. I walked around amazed and delighted all day.
Or rather sat at the sewing machine, delighted all day.
I found this piece of Marimekko fabric while I was looking for something else...
Four Yards of 58" fabric, in the perfect colorway for my bedroom. I am making it girly pink, because I can.
The stripe in the design made me think of Hidden Wells and so I sketched out the size I would need, ordered a comforter online to insert, and cut up the fabric into squares.

The squares were 18" cut twice on the diagonals and then rearranged to form these 20 blocks. I have enough fabric leftover for a pillowcase or a curtain panel. I have solid pink for a border, which I may need to add, if the comforter is very full. The lining will be the plaid sheet I blogged the other day.
Soon I will have the girly-est room in the house.
I think Bon-Bon's colors will go great in this room.

Hey I emailed Erin yesterday, because of your mention on your blog, and found out she's a dancer and quilter like me. Plus, I liked her work a lot. Thanks for that.
