Duvet Done
The no name duvet, 60x80" unquilted, pillowcased and on the bed.Not much in the way of planning. I just cut strips, and some triangles and squares and sewed them together and onto foundation panels. Two a day was the limit to my attention span.
I was surprised to see the layout of triangles when I placed it on the bed. Kinda nice pattern, for an accident.
I didn't put the quilt inside yet, as the house is a bit too warm yet for such a heavy bed topper. I slept with just the empty duvet and was quite warm all night. Now I plan on making some sort of pillow cover with the same strips. Must have the entire ensemble.
I am greatly relieved that I don't have to quilt this thing. It weighs quite a lot with the lining, the foundation panels and all those strips. And I am lazy.
Wow, that turned out quite nice, didn't it? I bet you are pleased. Very colorful and yet somewhat country-ish.
ReplyDeleteWow, that was very fast. Care to show a picture of the back?
ReplyDeleteThe back is just plain, hand dyed fabric that happened to be big enough to fit without having to piece it. Yawn. I need a nap.
ReplyDeleteOoh Mrs. Mel! I love it, and can only imagine the colourful and happy dreams anyone sleeping under this duvet would have.
ReplyDeleteDid you put a zipper in the bottom of it? Or buttons? It's fabulous!

ReplyDeleteIsn't this the quilt that people sent you scraps for a while back?
