In Over My Head

One day I think I am so smart and then the next day I am helpless. I am trying to install a Linksys router so I can have a wireless connection and use my laptop. The router comes with a cd which is supposed to help, but it only overwhelms me.
I have already called my brother Cary, my former computer guru, but leaving a message on his home phone may not be enough. It's not like he will run right over.
My next attempt will be to call the phone/internet company and beg for someone to come out and install this for me. I know it will cost me.
The good news is that the rains finally came, bringing life back to our area. Hopefully it will continue to rain for days. The fall colors are spectacular here. Lucky us.
And the second bit of good news is that the man is coming to install the gas line for our fireplace today. Hopefully.
Busy day.
OK I got courageous and plugged the thing in, said a prayer and voila! It works!!! I did it. I don't need a phone guy, or my brother. I am online on my own!

Yes, I did the CD thing too and when I mentioned that to one of the gurus at the computer club he said "You don't need that, you should have just plugged it in". Now it said right on the package "Install CD first" didn't it?
