Travel Check List
.
I am packing up my car to drive to Columbus OH today for my week at Quilt Surface Design Symposium.
I used to be great at this, but I am out of practice.
My small PT Cruiser will hold a lot, and a lot is what I am bringing:
.
4 Rubbermaid bins full of hand dyed fabric
2 Sterlite containers of silks and Special Edition Darks
6 Bolts of Wonder-Under promised to my Israeli students
A bag of my quilting supplies including more W-U and batting, blades/cutters/scissors/mat/threads/needles/teflon sheets/soap slivers/iron on a stick and holder
PVC table leg extensions
Shipping dolly ( I am not carrying each box into the building without this item)
Huge suitcase with way too many outfits
Smaller suitcase with two laptops, digital projector, camera, cables, mp3 player, cables, phone cables, and backup batteries.
CDs to listen to while driving
Portable tea kettle, Equal, Earl Gray and herbal teas, my own mug
2 rolls of larger quilts
stack of smaller quilts
credit card swiping machine and calculator which I almost forgot.
knitting project (socks of course)
.
I am still here waiting for UPS to arrive (late!!) with teflon sheets for my class which I ordered over a week ago. Grrr. It is a 7 hour drive to Columbus and I don't actually teach until tomorrow, so I am going to wait until they arrive (the sheets I mean) or until 2pm. Whichever comes first.
I will have internet access, I know, so I will be posting daily work, hopefully.
Yipes!! I just forgot my fused fabric and scraps! I hope there is still some room!

  3. OK, I can't resist. If you are taking an mp3 player why don't you get an adapter for your cigarette lighter (or in newer vehicles the plugin for electronics) and use the mp3 player in the PT Cruiser. That's what I do on road trips. Set the player to shuffle and away you go!

  4. Mel, did you remember your pillow from home? Of course you did! I remember an old post with your pillow in the photo and your socks! Have a great time in Columbus, we can't wait to see photos from the class.
