Coming late to the party...
0
I have just discovered podcasts. And with help from my sister Brooke, I have downloaded Itunes which gets the stuff and then I can download it to my mp3 player and hear the shows, or books or podcasts at my leisure.
I know you already have done this, and isn't it fun?
So here's what I am now a subscriber of:
Fresh Air with Terry Gross
A Prairie Home Companion
This American Life
Authors on Tour Live
Cast On (a knitting podcast)
and several Australian Broadcasting Company radio shows
I am also about to listen to A Tale of Two Cities, free audio book.
What have you found that is fun to hear?
Write me an email with the name.

  1. Isn't Cast On wonderful? I've only listened to a few, but loved every minute of them. You've inspired me to download some more episodes.

Podcasts are the best! I love listening to Alex Anderson on mine!! And another, material mama - she's lots of kids clothing sewing, but she has great "out of the box tips" with a free spirit soul! Beth A

  4. I got me an iPod shuffle and put it on my cloting out walking, - it's such a great comerad when I do not like to be out on my own.

I found "Hip Tranquil Chick", - a podcast based on yoga, but she has a very inspiering creative mind that doesn't mean you have to "love" yoga to get tips and thoughts to ponder over.
    She also have a blog.

I've been wanting to start running again and found the "Podcasts for Running", a program over 10 weeks with 3 walk/ runs of 30 minutes a week. Now I'm into week 4, going on week 5 :-)

I'll be looking into those others here at your site, - thanks a lot!!!

Check your Public Library. Mine offers great new audio books to download.

  6. Oh, I love podcasts. I listen to them as I garden or clean house. If my mind is engaged I don't mind doing almost anything.

One that you might like is Studio 360--another show on NPR that's about the arts and current trends in the arts. It's wonderful.

  7. I have downloaded the book The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson. Our library has free downloadable books and this one is a real hoot... Growing up in the 50's and 60's I lived this book... a must hear or read.
I also listen to Cast on and a Prairie Home Companion. I also regularly check out books on dvd to listen to from the library.
