Ready to Roll 'Em

I'm stocked up now! What an array of great colors, all in interlock knits. I will be a one person flashback to the 80's. I did find several brand new sets of shoulder pads in my stash, but was disappointed that I had already given away my wooly nylon. I will have to BUY some. O well.

.

Now here's my plan. A massive cutting and serging will soon commence. I am thinking short dresses, ala T-shirts, only slightly more stylish. Short sleeves and short hems. Little aprons from other fabrics will be added with pockets because pockets in knits is not a good idea. Then I am good to go. All this will be daywear at home, and will also work as pjs at night. One a day, in different colors and so easy care. More like a uniform which is what I like.

.

On a sad note: I am a moron and left this hand knit sweater in my dorm room when I was teaching in North Carolina last month. I also left my favorite black shorts and white tank top in the same drawer. When will I ever learn? ?

I look dorky here, but the sweater is nice, eh

I have emailed my contact person from the organizing guild, but have not heard back from her yet. I am heartsick.

Update: Cathy Nieman, wonderful student and my Asheville tour guide went to the college and searched high and low for me, and found nothing. Thanks Cathy for your efforts on my behalf.

  1. You must model your creations when you get them done.

Can't wait to see what you will produce Ms Mel. Those fabrics are lovely, makes me want to reach into that box.
I like the idea of housewear/bedwear, that could be me...lol.

Hope your lost things will find their way home...to you.

Yes, yes, yes. You must show us what you've done to the original patterns to make them work for you. Especially the apron - y thing. Just got back from N.Y. and lots of people there were wearing leggings or slim pants over "easy" tops and dresses. Go for it!!

We have an American Apparel store in our city and the windows are full of this sort of knit stuff. All kinds of shapes to wear all sorts of ways.

I am heartbroken for you losing such a beautiful sweater. Some people are just too disgusting and dishonest. This is not 'finders keepers'. It didn't fall off the back of your truck. Disgusting lot!

  11. Look at Sarah Jessica Parkers new line of clothing, as they look similar to what you are thinking of making.
