This is our kind of traffic!
Sunday morning at 10 ish, on our way home from Chattanooga. If this were our neighborhood in IL, it would be jammed with cars. Of course it was raining, and chilly in Chattanooga, so it's not like vacationers are streaming in, but one wants to live somewhere less congested and have the smooth pot-hole free roads we found in Tennessee. #1 on Dave's list: Less traffic.
Clean air and amazing views. The Tennessee River, the mountains, and the valley, who knew? I had never been to this area, and since all the cool homes I found happened to be there, this scenery was just an added bonus.
And to think we are on a street that has a private dock to this river, just four houses down.
Pinch me.
Dave is thinking pontoon boat...putt putt putt, drop in a line, sip a brew...
And we'll get a sailor hat and a lifevest for Popeye and he will live out his boat dreams too. He's always been the nautical type.
As for me, I am also living out my dreams...
of a main floor laundry room off the kitchen. Tiled no less. With cabinets and a pantry. I swoon.
Popeye is a cutie
ReplyDeleteThe 4 Bridges Art Festival is coming up this weekend in Chattanooga--the 29th largest in the country! Take a look--maybe next year you'll be juried in!

Yesterday someone asked me why I looked so green. "Read Melody's blog and you will be green too!" I replied. (Green, the color of envy.) Sounds evil, but it is not. I'm happy for you and your husband. It looks like a life dream come true.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious if you know why the current owners are moving? I don't know why I always want to know that, but I do.
ReplyDeleteThis house could be somewhere in the English countryside....hhhhhmmm, it seems to be the Yang for your Ying. Do you get all the appliances with the house? Here you don't even get a lightbulb...so no night viewing...lol.
ReplyDeleteHope you have some more pics to post. I am happy for you both finding a house that fills your needs. Good luck with your sale.
Congratulations, Ms Mel. Looks like a dream come true...
ReplyDeletePops doesn't look like there's a single thought rattling up there in his noggin. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I saw his eyes more than once the whole month I was there.
