And now for some Knitting Content...

When we were done teaching, Marjan Kluepfel and I finally got to see the show (shop!) at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival. I thought this sweater had an interesting take on mitered squares and almost bought the pattern. But I was not spending money that day, and decided to just have Marjan take a picture. She just now sent this to me. I had already started the sweater on my way out here to Denver...

I didn't like the way the sides were designed in the original so I fixed that in mine. You are looking at the sides only in this picture. On the left is the front and back side, folded in half, and on the right is the other side, not quite finished. The center panels (front and back) are yet to be designed by me. I am thinking of making this a cardigan with buttons down the front. The back will no doubt have diagonal ribs, ala the famous multi-directional scarf.

This scarf was fun to knit but I never wore it, so it was unknit and given a new life in my recently made Noro cardigan. Old wool never dies, it just gets moved to another project.

I wanted to include Robbi Eklow's wonderful quilt (Thanks for the picture, Marjan) in my examples of quilts that couldn't or shouldn't be made any other way, other than fusing.

Isn't this a beaut? None of the edges are finished. My kinda gal.

Robbi says: I used motifs I came up with when designing my second line of fabric. Cranston didn't use that particular layout, but I thought it would make an interesting meld of fusing and a traditional quilt. It's called Nine Patch.
