Chevron Tower
Chevron Tower
Hand dyed cottons, fused, hand and machine quilted. 9x21"
A traditional chevron format but one that allowed me to find a home for lots of dark scraps.
The snow continues to fall but the temps are better for us today. The parade of cars out front are inching along at a frustrating pace. I am so glad I don't have anywhere I have to go today.
Shot from my living room window...dots of snow obscure the view.
Very nice movement added with the quilting on this one! The "down" chevrons help stop the eye from going "up-up-up"!

I love the diagnol lines. I also like the dark stormy colors and the touch of bright colors to make it pop. I really enjoyed the quilting on this piece because of the curvy quilting lines. When a design is more linear I think using curves for quilting can really set it off.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work. I have really enjoyed seeing what you are quilting everyday.

i like the chunky pieces of this piece and your subdued use of the little skinny waves. a nice departure in design.
ReplyDeleteoooooooooh, nice. A little different direction I think, to me it's more "quilty" than "arty". Fabulous regardless!!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the weather from your front room window. Nice that you can stay warm and cozy inside without needing to run out anywhere.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it for me!
I love the way you post pictures of the actual quilting that you have done on many of your pieces. It is such a nice and important part that is frequently left off of quilt photos. Good job! :)

I really love the colors of this one. Dark and moody with just a hint of bright sunlight. Counters all the white outside.
