Circus
Hand dyed cottons, fused, hand and machine quilted, 12ish" squarish
OK I am late posting today. I spent most of yesterday distracted by events at home, and knitting and post-officing etc. I kept thinking that I would get to the studio later, and then later and finally, not at all. So instead I headed right down there this morning and so here we are at 9:30ish with something just tossed together, again from scraps.
I am going to go back for #2 today, since I am doing laundry downstairs anyway...I am avoiding making two or three slide presentations. Quilting as avoidance. ha!
I just love this newest piece!! The colors are perfect, yummy with movement.....my new favorite! You have such talent, thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love what you're doing with these recent pieces!
ReplyDeletejust perfekt - for me :-)
ReplyDeleteThe aqua stitch is hand done, with size 8 pearl cotton. Big fat stitches...
ReplyDeleteI love these little quilts you have just "tossed" together. When you use the 8 perle cotton, what kind of needle do you use? Do you ever use 5 perle cotton?
ReplyDeleteLisa, I use whatever needle that fits the thread. I have used #5 pearl but it usually brings the batting up with each stitch and y'know that looks icky.
ReplyDelete#12 works great, as does embroidery floss.
I love this quilt, those colours sing!
ReplyDeleteMelody your machine stitching is PERFECT! I am so envious of your skill. I love the colours in this quilt, they just zing.
ReplyDeleteI just love the circus - Edelgard
ReplyDeleteI really love this. Maybe its the colour combo, maybe its the curves. Can't put my finger on it - but it is GREAT :)
ReplyDeletethis is fabulous! It has me seeing lizards or salamanders...the movement is amazing
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of hand quilting and machine quilting. It's just right.
