Keeping Track
.
I am not very good at being organized. I forget the dates and dimensions of quilts. I put on a label years later and have to fake the date. Terrible. So I decided to have an alternate blogsite to log in the pieces that I am making. Nothing much, just a place where there is a picture and dimensions, and dates of completion. It really helps.
Yesterday I discovered that I made a mistake in numbering the Stacks quilts that I have made. This proves what a moron I am. But after several hours of dinkin' around, I have finally gotten the last 6-13 on the other blog, and feel certain I will get around to filling in the missing dimensions on #11 or #12...
I have a lecture on Thursday night, very close by. I am going to fake looking professional with a real price list, for the first time! Since I did the work of organizing and correctly naming the Stacks, I will print out a page with thumbnails of each piece and its dimensions and price. I will put it in a page protector and it will accompany the quilts on the display table. Maybe someone will bite.
How long has it taken me to come up with this idea? Centuries!

  1. Libby Lehman was the speaker at our guild meeting last night. She recommended when making a series to just name it some simple followed by a number....and wouldnt it be fun to start numbering them somewhere like #11 so that people would try to find the first 10 after we die.

  2. WARNING - I started my blog as a quick and dirty way of keeping track of new work (mostly) and as a result, my main website - the one that's supposed to be my Professional Face on the internet - has gone to Hell in a nicely crafted basket.

I must come up with a similar system.
