This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the fabric that will travel home to Singapore with Glory and Brooke. I am happy to be providing them with grist for their art mill during the coming months. We have no date for their return to the states, just hoping it will be when Daddy has a wonderful position teaching somewhere close!
For Glory I decided she needed some prefused scraps from my stash...
Brooke made eight completed tops, and three got finished with the Escape Hatch and are ready to quilt at home. They were put in clear envelopes for that professional touch.
Now it all has to go into the luggage! We still have Sunday to play, but the relief of knowing all the fabric is packed will make it easier to have a stress free day.
The last two pieces in Brooke's series. I learned a lot from her designs, including LIMITING my color scheme. How long I have tried to get this concept into my work...
Glory looks like a kid in a candy store, and Brooke says "Give me more".
ReplyDeleteThe worst part of travelling (for me) is packing to go home...even if I want to go home I dislike the packing...however, if I had that eye candy to pack I would love it. I am sure they know how lucky they are. I wish them a safe journey home.
ReplyDeleteCan I come to your house for vacation?
ReplyDelete:o)
I have to say, Glory is one of the most beautiful children I have ever seen...her beautiful spirit just shines and shines. Please give her a hug for me...I wish I could have met her.
ReplyDeleteAnd Brooke....beautiful work (and in my favorite colors).....
Safe travels ladies......

It is obvious that they both had a GRAND time with you. Glory is such a lovely looking child, she certainly glows with beauty. Your Sis must have been dying for this opportunity to spend time in your workroom.
ReplyDeleteWishing them a safe journey home.
Oh my! Your houseguest parting gifts are gonna get you a MILE LONG waiting list for that guest room! Glad you've had such fun with Brooke and Glory--I'll look forward to reading Brooke's blog to see what direction she takes after this wonderful creative time with you!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed reading about your escapades with your sis and niece and I'm sad to see them go! Those three pieces Brooke is holding up will make a fabu triptych. Glory is a darling girl. Bye guys!
ReplyDeleteGlory is so lucky to have suhc a lovely aunty. My niece is 7 and loves doing creative things. I think I need to have a go at this fusing lark - and then we can do it together too.
ReplyDeleteI love your scraps stash:) What fun that must be.
Sue - PS I did a batch of 'Lazy dyeing" today. I didn't have plastic boxes to put the fabric into so I put each piece into a plastic bag and tied it. I will leave the buckets (which have the plastic bags in) in the sun tomorrow before I go to work. Will then rinse on Monday and Tuesday eveing.
What fun! It looks like it was a fabric bonanza!
