Glory in the Morning
Not only is Glory her name, but her smile brings the same response. She is my eleven year old niece and daughter of my sister Brooke (and husband Terry, who remains in Singapore).
A candid shot of Brooke, who retains the family trait, rooster hair in the morning.
We are not alone for long.

"I think every artist who succeeds (in their own terms) has some ability to keep moving forward in the face of constant obstacles...emotional, mental, financial, physical...and that is what sets them apart from those who always talk about trying or starting but never get beyond the talking stage."
From Nancy Crow, by Nancy Crow. (Sketchbook notes, p. 54)
Thank you for sharing the Nancy Crow quote.
ReplyDeleteYour niece is adorable.
THAT should be my mantra!
ReplyDeleteOh, you will be having fun over the next few weeks! Glad Brooke and Glory are there with you all...what a happy smile that child has!
ReplyDeleteWas Nancy Crow talking about me by any chance?!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your family's visit and spoil that niece to bits regardless of how much her mother might protest.......they grow up so quickly and time and distance won't give you this chance very often.
Glad Brooke and Glory made it safely.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I received my copy of Nancy's book yesterday (ordered on your advice- good advice once again) and, while paging through it I also came across that quote and marked the page. Wiser words I have never read.
