Tornadoes in Chicago prevented me from flying out of Albany yesterday, so I called for a limo (not!) and went to a spa (really not!) At least I have internet access. That will be the legend on my tombstone, I say it so often. Of course this is stone age internet access. But I can still blog. Tenk Hevvens.
I was feeling a little peckish and asked the shuttle driver if the motel has a dining room and a negatory to that question was followed by volunteering to take me, nay, drop me off at a diner.
We pause while we relish the irony of comparing this result with the week of lavish food and lodging I have just enjoyed... (no pictures please).
OK.
So Easter dinner was two 3 oz glasses of merlot followed by:
cream of glue soup
iceberg salad with 2 pounds of red onions for color
roast pork chops in glue gravy with glue stuffing
mushy broccoli in glue sauce
And for dessert, vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, no nuts, no cherry, no sprinkles, no chocolate.
Blech.
Well, it is clean and doesn't smell too bad. I have all my luggage, meaning all my dirty laundry, and my knitting to keep me happy. I finished a pair of sox, Trekking is the yarn.
Matching is overrated.
And I have more to work on. Unfortunately, I lost one of the dpns in FL and never replaced them, so that sox will have to wait til I get home. The second ball I can knit with the 2's I have with me.
Then I will rip the music from this cd and download it on my mp3 player. And maybe recharge all my batteries, yawn and repack my bags and climb the walls while I wait. My flight, should it be a go, leaves at 3:40 pm today.
On another note...LAURA HAS A BLOG!!!!! O AND I ALREADY MADE HER A BUTTON. SEE SIDEBAR. Am I a bit excited? Yes you betcha. She is a funny gal and I await her humor with baited breath. The CSOF (Chicago School of Fusing) has five bloggers now! Some are not such regular writers however, not mentioning any names and some focus a teeny bit more on dogs and knitting and food than others, but mostly we are about the QUILTING FUSING COLOR business. Welcome to Blogland Laura!
Melody, I'm so sorry you were stuck in Albany! You should have called us. We would have loved to have you come back. If you're flight doesn't leave today, be sure to call. We still have plenty of leftover chocolate. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you had such a crappy Easter. Better weather is due today.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels.

OMG, My husband read your story and said "stuck in Albany-she needs saving" His engineering life requires frequent trips to Albany and he will do nearly anything not to have to stay there overnight.According to him the food description was dead on.Gravy you can lift off with a fork.I'm sorry your Easter was less than great-safe travels today...Dee
ReplyDeleteWhat a dreary Easter - but I know you made the best of it. Hope you are getting home safely - Dave misses you and the salmon is getting old.
ReplyDeleteAt least there was wine...
ReplyDeleteWhat an irritating way to end what otherwise seems to have been a great week! I have been looking in every day to see what you have been up to and dreamt of taking part in your class. It has been such a treat to look in on you all and see what you have created, and that lovely inn, and the food! With your wonderful descriptions of everything I have felt as if I have taken part, if only as a fly on the wall... Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat an end to your fantastic week, I think I must have eaten in that food chain, sounds a familiar menu.
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog for awhile and just have to tell you how inspired I am by your dyeing and fusing. I have been dyeing fabrics for only a short time since I started quilting but I am already hooked. As soon as I finish the wall hanging and quilt I am working on it is on to fusing. THanks so much fro sharing techniques and examples.

Too funny. I made those socks. The ones you have on the bed. When they were doone I was horrified and called them ny Demented Clown socks for all the weird pooling. But I wear them now.
