Someone should attend to the obvious eating disorders running rampant with the Rolling Bones. Keith Richards, Ron Woods and Mick could use some serious collagen injections, dermabrasion, and wardrobe counseling.
I am so grateful not to have see any of these men naked.
I'm with Brooke on this one...yesterday was enough, more than enough...and did you notice how young the audience in the pit was???? what was with that? i just imagined someone calling their grandparents on the cell saying "you guys where right, they do rock!"
ReplyDelete"Grandpa's a rock star" is what the kiddies are chanting. Yuck is right. I don't know anyone who watched the Rolling Bones perform. Personally, I painted two yards of fabric during the half time show.
ReplyDeleteMel, the thing is, I have always been a huge Stones fan but that's based on listening to the records they made 30 plus years ago. It's like having a closed coffin at a funeral. I would rather remember what the person was like and not have my last image of them be as a cadaver. Ugh! Sad..very sad.Plus the sound was like they were singing under water. Not to mention that I must sadly be reminded that he's only a few years older than me. Gad, what a nightmare. Dee
ReplyDeleteI admire them for having the guts and the physical ability to get up on a stage and perform...they might not be real pretty...but they can make music. They are not letting their age or their "physical Look" hold them back...they are enjoying this period in their life. All I can say is GOOD FOR THEM!
ReplyDeleteThe Stones are about as creepy as they come. I wonder what their insides look like, when looking at the outside.
ReplyDeleteI am such a football fan. I didn't even know the Stones were performing until I read your comments!!!!
Watched the game, but refuse to buy into the uber-marketing of the experience. No pre-game show, no half-time show.
ReplyDeleteI watched the puppy bowl, instead.
Mixing sports and pop culture is just so wrong.
Oops, I missed the Superbowl! It's broadcast at something like 4 am here and I didn't realize what day it was until the hubby didn't have to go to work until 1300. "Ridden hard and put away wet" looks aside, I saw the Stones during their Steel Wheels tour (late 80s?) and they ROCKED!!!!! Mick sure knew how to work the stage, and I assume he still does. I say "you go dude!" as long as he can still do it. But, thoughts of the guys neked; well that's scary!
ReplyDeleteI don't watch football but I am always so curious about the big games, especially the half time show. What I think is amazing is that Mick Jagger had the momentum and energy to carry the sports and music fans pretty much all by himself. At his age, he can still move everyone, one way or the other. I call that using his creative forces in the best way he can -- I think it's amazing! All those people key right in!
ReplyDeleteAfter all the pre-Bowl hype, I was just deeply disappointed and amazingly uncomfortable . . . even embarrassed by the whole performance. The whole production was just "off."
ReplyDeleteohhhh !!right!!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw these pics and was completely CORN-FUSED!!!What the???? I forgot that big dumb game was on...too busy trying to teach my self how to navigate in Front Page cause I'm building a web site!!waaaay more important to me than a football game anyday....thank you very much.....
I never watch the Super Bowl, but I love the Stones. My husband told me how dull their performance was. Just because they're older didn't mean it had to be. Sad to hear that it was.
ReplyDeleteSee them naked? hahhahah ...I laughed so much my sides hurt. Now why would your mind even go there Ms Mel? hahahahhahah....Hubby watched the game of course while I languished in the studio fighting clamshells trying to make them get machine sewed.... but did take time to watch a little and that was enough.

The Stones were always bad boys, and not in the least cute.. even 40 years ago. But I'll give Mick one thing.. he has 10 years on me..he has abused his body for years, and I could never do the prancing and skipping, and still have enough breath in me to sing.. even as bad as he does. I can see him after the show.. popping Aleeve.. going.. Oy.. my HIPS!!!
ReplyDeleteMick was ugly 40 years ago and he hasn't improved with age. I still have a few of their songs I like but have never been a *Stones* fan.
ReplyDeleteNow football is another story. It wasn't the most exciting game I've ever watched and I was getting really sick of listening to my DH and son whining about how the refs were screwing the Seahawks (they both bet on Seattle), but I was happy to see the Steelers win and see Jerome hoist the trophy.
Was disappointed in the commercials this year. Nothing really appealed to me or tickled my funny bone....

Boy, I'm with you on this one, Melody. They are soooooooo unsexy.
ReplyDeleteNot like your work which I love to look at!
