I had a really good phone conversation with Emily Parson yesterday and she mentioned something great about getting organized. I cannot remember the attribution but the gist of it is simple:
Make a list of what needs to be done and rank things in order of importance. Do #1 first, completely and follow through with the rest of the list in order, and to completion.
Simple yet something that I never focused on quite so clearly as I did yesterday. I made that list and accomplished everything on it before lunch! I was able to allow myself enough free time to take a nap. A NAP, PEOPLE!
Then when I got up I made a decision to do one more thing that was on my list all year, and finally finished that. Where will this end? Talk about a revolution in my work habits...this is it!!
You're so silly! Good advice. Now, I'm curious what that "one more thing" was? But, I'm glad you feel refreshed and productive.
ReplyDeleteYou know for a moment with that picture of Gabrielle I thought I was on the wrong blog! I'm easily confused! Yes the list thing works for me too. One feels so good as things get ticked off. I'm looking forward to reading your blog this year coming...it promises to be interesting!
ReplyDeleteI am a list queen. I also like setting a timer for 15 minute work spurts. Now what I need to do is make a creative to do list = that always takes a back seat. Happy New Year, Dahling!!
ReplyDeleteI feel almost famous...me and Mike..what a pair.
ReplyDeleteI never make a list. I let my brain do it's share of the work. I have arranged a filing system in there with folders and etc's ...I got the idea from the computer...after all, we made the computer...
