Blog Fodder

Frieda and Laura had a duo book signing last night at the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin IL. They neglected to remind me to come see them but are still using MY BLOG to self aggrandize. hrruummph.
And if that ain't enough, an anonymous commenter said this:
Alright, you are talking too much, and knitting too much, and you are avoiding making art. There are not enough pictures.
The butt, she is kicked.
And another post told me that the aspartame thingy is a hoax and I can keep eating the mountain of artificiality that I have grown to depend upon lo these many years.
OK. I will post some pictures and stop talking and obey authority figures and the speed limit. So help me God.

  1. I like your talking. Its fun, bright and breezy. I admire you for being like that so early in the morning. It is necessary to say though that I don't dig all the knitting but then that's just me. And hey about a picture of the new hair do?

Back to your previous entry...I am with Tommy and Dave. One of the things I love the most about your work is your use of color. The darker colors just aren't YOU. I see the darker colors and I think you have been possessed.

Re: knitting...she's right. I am doing a lot of knitting too. On my 2nd pair of socks. And yes,I am avoiding making art. The charity quilt took it's toll and I need to recharge my batteries. So, I am off to Hinsdale for my 30th class reunion and am taking the knitting with me....

Oh goodness, Martha is making something with crawfish and has a container FULL of live crawfish that are walking all over the place and Liza Minelli won't eat anything she has met....oh, and Martha just dumped out the food and it looks just like that WONDERFUL meal Tommy made for us and Martha mentioned dumping the food out on a newspaper covered table!!!! Tommy, that should be YOU starring on this show!! Martha's got nothing on you!!

  3. I say keep the dark colors! In combination with the brights it creates a stronger value range and more dynamic work. Personally I love the direction your work is going in, keep pushing that comfort zone. As a fellow knitter, i love the posts showing knitting. i can't just make quilts, I want to try every medium, i think it just feeds the creativity, and the soul. do it all and have fun with it!

  4. I'm with Judy..it's all in the contrast..you just needed some of your brighter fabrics to play off the dark.
Love the new hair cut...when are our tatoos scheduled?
