Headboard Project

More of the same, pink quilted background fabric and green piping. The headboard is made from two square 22x4" cushions from Hobby Lobby, which I glued together (I think...) and then covered with batting and a lining fabric. The first time I covered it with red duckcloth, and then the second time, the pink twill. They both had zipper closures, but I didn't think ahead to buy one, Duh, so I just stitched the new cover closed right over the previous two layers. I don't see any reason to remove them and they fill the new layer just right. I love how the welting looks connected, just for the picture of course.
And I decided to switch the chair and table for the millionth time. How pale they both look next to this shocking pink. Out with the old, in with the new, soon.
While I was digging around looking for lining fabric I came across some old unsold quilts. Perfect for this new color scheme! Of course I was planning on making new work, but I couldn't ignore these Pink Hearts and then Print Parade #2.

Print Parade #2 is pieced and quilted and is about 22" square and could, I say COULD become a pillow front with very little effort. The binding is merely fused and zigzagged in place. To change it from a quilt to a pillow seems anti-art, whatever that means, but I was going to make pieced pillows anyway, and the color scheme is just right... I am talking myself into it. After all, I found this and the other five in the Print Parade series just stuffed in a bag in the closet. Shame on me.
First I must make a pillow insert. At our house we never seem to throw away old bed pillows, so I am unstuffing some from Ralph Lauren and Laura Ashley which still have lots of soft fluffy goodness, and put them to good use.
