It was a glorious October morning and this was the church where we were to meet. Or so I thought. It turned out that our meeting spot was down the hill which was not visible to me when I arrived. I waited at the church and after setting up my dyes, I sat and knit, and waited for everyone to show up. They were all down at the bottom waiting for me. A comedy of errors. Eventually a priest wandered in and suggested that all those cars were my knitting friends, and so I went outside and saw where I should have been and then it all became clear to me. Duh.
It was a super fun event. Lots of enthusiasm and beautiful color. The dyes did their magic act and here is my demo skein. I went for pastel rainbow.
Sheila's Sock yarn from http://www.wool2dye4.com/ Someone on my knit-for-list will see her feet covered in this. Woowoo!
Speaking of on its way, we are on our way up north to assess the damage to Dave's motorcycle and figure out what to do about it. It is being stored at a Kawasaki dealer who also sells all terrain vehicles which Dave wants. He is going to try and make a deal with the guy. The plot thickens.
About an hour into our trip to see the motorcycle, the dog pooped in his kennel and I pulled over with the trailer in tow to clean up the mess. ( We had to bring the dog, since we would be gone all day, and my studio would be at his mercy). Then we had to stop again at a post office to mail a bunch of knits and the quilt above. While I was in the post office Dave reconsidered the whole idea of trying to get something for the bike in trade for an ATV. He decided to cut his losses and not get anything. In fact he decided we should just go home. As we speak he is talking to the dealer and making arrangements to send him the title and leave it at that.
I had prayed a lot about this and felt that since I had absolutely no control over anything I would hand it over and just let God handle the situation, knowing He would work things out just perfectly. I am pretty sure He did.
Oh Noooooooze, more vehicle drama on the horizon.
ReplyDeleteI hope he kept his motorcycle helmet! Maybe Chumley will need one too! How cute would that be? and maybe some old school leather goggles...
ReplyDeleteYIKES!!! PLEASE don't let him get an ATV!!! Our nephew was almost killed on one a couple years ago when he was climbing a steep incline (we have lots of them here in PA!) when it overturned and rolled backwards on him and crushed his left pelvis and fractured his leg in 4 places!! He's had numerous surgeries and walks with a limp (and always will) and he's in constant pain!! He's only 40 and regrets being on the thing!! They are dangerous!!
ReplyDeleteWow! The power of prayer is pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful yarn and thanking God with you for how He handled the situation.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that Dave went for the title rather than an ATV. Huge sigh of relief!
ReplyDeleteWhew! Close one!
ReplyDeleteBeth
Seems like God and Chumley have things on track.
ReplyDeleteLove, feel good stories and endings.
Isn't Sheila's Sock wonderful, I love how it dyes and knits up.
ReplyDeleteGood thing the ATV is not on the table. Happiness is a hubs who gets a bit sensible!
What a relief that must be! The church story was so funny! Just like something I would do!
ReplyDeleteI'm praising God with you! Thank you for sharing how God is caring for you and Dave.
ReplyDeleteThat sock yarn is super cheerful! And good news about the ATV decision :-)
ReplyDeleteWhew!!! I'm so glad that Dave made the decision (with God whispering in his ear, no doubt) not to get an ATV. :)
ReplyDeleteO, Melody, I'm SO happy that your DH will not be getting anything! I was actually worried a bit for you two. But, trust God to work things out. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and that dyed yarn is just delicious! I will need to review your blog to see if you describe the process anywhere.
puppy poop can be a wonderful thing or perhaps God works in mysterious ways. . .either way it's great to hear he figured out the right thing.
