You may have read words to the effect of NO MORE PETS on this blog. Well, things change. Today we may be adopting a puppy.
It occured to me that Dave needs a project to divert his attention from driving and since we have the room in our hearts and home for a pup, now is the time.
We have been looking on Craigslist and found two pugs, which we have always had a hankering for, since that movie with Milo and Otis. We already had cast the part of the cat (yes, Popeye is still ALIVE) and have made arrangements to pick up one pug in Huntsville Alabama today. A second pug is in Chattanooga, and hopefully he will also join our family.
Dave and I have both had dogs before we met each other (centuries ago) and he is a great trainer. This will be a new adventure, for sure. Stay tuned.

What a GREAT idea!! You guys will have SOO much fun with the new pups!
ReplyDeleteI have Olive Lucy, the half blind, adopted Pug and she is THE BEST PET EVER.
ReplyDeleteYou will love these clowns. Be forewarned, they are a tad hard to train. Think doggie door. Helps a lot.
XO
Liza the pug woman
Oh Gosh are you going to love these pups. My good friend Jo has a pug and we keep him while she travels. He's hilarious with the snurffling and snuffling. What fun!
ReplyDeleteShould provide entertaining content for the blog too! Congrats on your soon to be new family members.
ReplyDeleteOOOOH! I love pugs! So excited for you! Two puppies sure will be a handful, good luck!
ReplyDeleteDave won't have a second to even think about driving. The puppies will take care of all of that. We got dogs when hubby retired, gave him something to do besides keep track of me.....
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I didn't see that one coming! LOL! Okay...it is true, Dave will have the time for them. Two at a time? Fun times ahead.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.... Pugamania! Has a nice ring to it! And the pugpy in the picture is soooo sweet! Can't wait to see posts on the new addition(s)!
ReplyDeleteThat's so great! Just imagine the little ponchos you can knit for the new buddies. That's great you are thinking of having a pair. They'll keep each other busy and entertained! Do you ever watch Cesar Millan "The Dog Whisperer" on the National Geographic channel-- I think his tips are so smart. If ever we got a dog again, we'd get his video first!!
ReplyDeleteGenius! Everyone wins! I can't wait to meet them and hear their new names. It's always fun to pick dog names, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteOoh! How exciting! Puppies always make life better! I can't wait to see them!
ReplyDeleteAWWWWW!!!! How cute!!!! Are you going to knit sweaters for your "babies"??? They may need them this winter :) Can't wait to see pictures of your new family members.
ReplyDeleteI remember my SIL telling me a hundred times that they wouldn't get any more pets (they inherited her mom's cat when she passed away and he is 17). Well, last March she called me up and was so excited because they had just come home with a Shih Tzu (???). She is the cutest thing ever and loves everyone!
I have a pug. Brinkley. He is 10 years old and the love of my life. He has been a great dog and companion.
ReplyDeleteoh man, I couldn't be happier for you guys....what a wonderful addition to your family. congrats!
ReplyDeleteI have bred pugs for years, now just down to two ld ones.
ReplyDeletebe warned, they dont train easily, they dont think they are dogs, ours always boncecwith the cat, but they are fun.
Just dont over feed, they are energetic little dogs but they dont swim at all well, keep away from ponds.
Have fun.
Congrats! Nothing beats a dog's love. I have 3 pound puppies who make me happy to come home every day. And they do keep each other great company. Enjoy! (By the way, I LOVE my doggie door and fenced in yard.) ( petdoorsusa.com )
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it will be good for Dave(and you).
ReplyDeleteMy mother always said a project was the answer to every problem. A project that is entertainment and rewards one with love is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteWow Melody, you'll both have a great time! A friend of mine's daughter got one recently and they say they now do no TV watching - he's much more entertaining!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun
You will need a fenced yard on that busy road. Or at least a fenced area. Puppies aren't naturally smart. They will be very smart, I'm sure, when they grow up.
ReplyDeleteOh, my, congratulations. You'll have adventures ahead.
ReplyDeleteAwwww...so cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how Popeye will react to them, might be interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe dogs look really cute. I hope a lot more pictures of them will appear on this blog.
The baby Pug caught my attention really quick! I love Pugs they are so much fun and have the best personalities. I have two Puggles which also make a fun breed, best personalities. The Pug Pup is the best medicine. You will love him or her immensely.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
Renee
