Treehouse V

Treehouse V

Hand dyed and commercial cottons, fused, hand and machine quilted. 14.5x15"$250 Email me.

Lately I have been taking photos on the retaining wall to get lighting without having to set up lamps and then later adjust for color. This works fine usually, except I finished this piece before the sun was up and I had to wait.

I've got the quilt pinned to a piece of leftover styrofoam.
Treehouse V is a bit more multicolored, with just about a rainbow of fabrics in the striped pieces. To find the color scheme I collect fabrics that will coordinate with the main two colors, lime green and magenta and then extrapolate from there. It looks as though everything 'goes' with those two hues.

  1. I love the drama of this particular version. The colors seem to pop out at you.
I love how you are taking the photos... very professional!!!

  2. every version of this makes me smile. So cool.

Yes, your photos of your awesome quilts are awesome...thanks for showing how!
Remember, Chartreuse IS the new neutral! ;-)

  4. Did you have any idea when you finished the first Treehouse that it would become a series? I love the playful spirit of these and how complex they look despite the simple straight stitches. Just beautiful.

  5. You are exceeding yourself! I love this one too. I think the magenta fabric looks kind of like the northern lights. I love the composition. It's a joyous, delightful piece.

  6. My favorite so far.

  7. All in this series make my feet dance, but this one is my favorite!! Yum!

  8. When I saw the quilt posed on the wall, the first thing that came to mind was that you'd put the Twin Towers on it. Then I looked again and it changed. Oh my!!

  9. Eileen! I thought the same Thing!

  10. Do you know about the little houses of San Francisco that were built after the earthquake? They are tiny and some are still around - there is one between big buildings and this one just reminds me of it so much! I love this piece!
