On Your Mark, Get Set....

I am on a mad rampage of stash reduction. I gathered up the 20 or so jam-packed fiber filled Rubbermaids from the potting shed storage and brought them into the living room. I am taking inventory, photographing, pricing and uploading to a yet unannounced site for A GREAT YARN SALE.
This yarn is not the poor orphans of my collection, no, it is the supremo good stuff.
It all began when I showed my husband my newly reorganized clothes closet. I told him that 'these are the clothes I actually wear'. Everything else in the other closet was part of my former life, and really irrelevant to the life I am living. This led to a discussion of what I saw when I visited my mother...and the lightbulb went on over my head.
Why keep this brand new, unused, and probably never will be used yarn in the outbuilding when someone out there would like it? If I live til I am 90 I will not be able to get to everything I have, and since teaching quilting to you is what allowed me to splurge on this stuff, it is you who should have the first dibs on some (most) of what I bought. You and your best friend I mean. Even you the best bargain hunter in the world couldn't take on all this stuff.
So be patient and wait a few days and I will announce the site here. In the meantime I have 12 more boxes to inventory. O boy!

  5. Omigosh, isn't de-cluttering fun and addictive? My very favorite thing. I always feel like I've lost weight when I get rid of stuff. Go!

  7. Thanks for this post. I'm trying to reduce items in my own apt so it is warm and welcoming rather than crowded and cluttered.... after several moves and storage sessions. As much as I would covet some of that yarn, I need to make room for my own acquisitions over the summer to aid my own art practice. Thanks for leading the way
