Update: Better Panels!

Now I am a happy girl. I got to Lowe's by 8am, got the exact sheets I wanted, Lowe's brand, 3/4" very dense styrofoam, no plastic or foil on either side and the price...$12.28, my birthdate! And they are a lovely light sage green, sweet!

With this dense styrofoam I won't have to tape all the edges like the other ones, which were crumbly and dusty. And I found a roll of duck tape in the potting shed, which I commandeered for my use. I will only need to reinforce the hanging part, still using the washers, and will be ready to roll much faster.
I found an opened package of Command hooks at the store (seriously, meant to be, I must say) and tried it out on the thicker foam. Fits like a glove.
Yup, it was worth the trip.
I'll be returning the first set of panels next week when I go back to town.

In less than 15 minutes, the panels were hung! I am so so so happy. Now to add the Command hooks, for stabilizing...

More explanation needed on how the hooks are used. Do you cover the walls with flannel? Thanks.

I am so glad this worked out for you! The design wall look wonderful. I may have to copy this idea for my new studio!

  5. Whoa! I'm excited. I have been using foamcore, but mine is too fat for this. I will buy some more and play copycat.

You definitely need to add this to your Helpful stuff List! Which, by the way, has helped me tons :P
