At this point it is 49 x52" and I added a section to the middle of yesterday's piecing. The colors are getting more saturated, since the wimpiest ones were already used up in the composition. I am resorting to more oomphyness in the second part, and because of that I rotated the whole thing and it looks like this will be the orientation I will work with on part three, tomorrow.
I am so glad I challenged myself to work this way, mostly because I would never have been able to imagine I would ever had made something like this. There are things that happen while in the zone, discoveries that make an impact, that one must follow through to see the results. This way of working is full of surprise and so much more satisfying than knowing how it will look beforehand.
It is very tempting to stop here and call this the final layout, but we'll see...
Here's how it was arranged before I digitally rotated it. I have lots of bits leftover to add to part three.
My faithful companions. This is a momentary pause for a 'catnap'. Minutes later WWIII took place over Pink Bone.
Looks like hot jazz piano keys!

ReplyDeleteI, too, think it looks like very jazzed up piano keys! And this orientation feels somewhat happier to me.
ReplyDeleteI too, love the vertical orientation! Your Pug boys look like the Synchronized Sleeping Team... aren't they the best?
ReplyDeleteI love the dull juxtaposed with the saturated reds/violets. yes, I too saw piano keys
