QAWM : 30 Blocks, Arranged

I've completed 30 blocks which measure more or less 5'x6' which is good enough for a nice nap quilt for me. Looking at the picture, I am surprised to see that the column of blocks on the right look darker than the rest. This was unplanned, and will be rearranged so that they aren't so different looking. The blocks aren't sewn together yet, so there is plenty of time to change the layout.
My assembly line way of making the second 15 sets was much faster and made more sense and I will no doubt incorporate that method into the next top I make.
After I sew these into their final layout, I will start a new quilt top, and leave the quilting for later, maybe March.
Even tho I am in favor of a more efficient way of piecing, I focused on taking my sweet time in making this top. Slowing down is pretty much against my standard work ethic and is something I am trying hard to control. I want to unlink my Speedy Gonzales mindset and enjoy the process. In doing so I am getting into the studio later, and working fewer hours, reading and napping in the warm afternoon sunshine. I am reminding myself that this is how most people work, WHO CONSIDER QUILTING A HOBBY and it is supremely OK. Yes.
Speaking of warm afternoons, it was over 60 degrees today and the fish were out en masse, and I ran back into the house for my camera. I was lucky to get these shots.


That is our one koi, and he is a big one. I just got him in June ( Walmart) when he was only four inches long and now he is the biggest fish in the pond. I want more!

His fins are like wings and he swims so differently than the rest of the fish. We must think of a name for him.

I got a good haircut Monday and I feel like a new woman.
What a difference it makes on my outlook.
