A Little Change. . .

...makes a big difference in the way I am now working. I don't know why I didn't think of this when my knee was bad, preventing me from standing at my ironing table for long. Now that my knee is fixed, and I am back to piecing, I have added an ironing spot right on my sewing table! Wow, what a neat thing to have at my fingertips. The scraps/strips are cut and sewn and pressed all while sitting and I am going along lickety-split. Of course it would be nicer if the space were on the right side of the machine, being right handed, but this seems to be working, so no complaints.
The scrap piles are arranged in front of me by color and I am able to extract what I need easily enough without walking around. This means I am getting no exercise, but the dawgs wanting in and out are helping on that front.
There is no plan afoot for this quilt other than this painting from Pinterest. I am using it to remind me to look for balance, repetition and contrast. Also small, medium and large elements.
